How to manage Direct Debits
Do you support Direct Debits?
Yes. You pay Direct Debits from your Equals Money account and manage any that have already been set up.
How do I setup a Direct Debit?
To set up a Direct Debit contact the company you want to pay and provide them with your Equals Money account details (account number and sort code). The merchant will set up the Direct Debit on their end.
Note: Direct Debits are always set up by the merchant, not within the Equals Money platform. You authorise the payment, but they initiate the collection.
How do I manage my Direct Debits?
Go to Payments and then select Scheduled payments. From there you can view active Direct Debits and cancel a Direct Debit
How do I cancel a Direct Debit?
Open the Direct Debit you want to cancel by clicking on it. In the panel that opens, select the option to cancel at the bottom.
Please ensure you tell the organisation you’ve cancelled it, especially if there is an outstanding payment or contract.
Can I pay Direct Debits from sub-balances?
Yes. You can pay Direct Debits from any sub-balance.
