Equals Money: Updates to the Way You Sign In

Product

We're improving the way you sign in and authenticate yourself. We want to give you as many options as possible, while also strengthening the security of your account.

Please note: Fraudsters and scammers are becoming more clever in how they operate. For any emails discussing the security of your account, remember to sign in via our website's sign-in page (https://app.equalsmoney.com/en-GB/login), rather than clicking a link within the email itself.

If you have any concerns, talk to our team who can verify if an email was genuinely sent by Equals Money.

Why is this changing?

We want to give you as many options as possible to sign in and authenticate. Previously, an SMS code to you phone was the only way to authenticate yourself.

The update gives you more ways to complete a security verification. This means better security for your account, as well as more options and convenience for you and your team.

What's happening?

This change will be rolled out in phases over the next month. You'll notice a change to the look of the sign-in page on our website:

Over time, new authentication options will be introduced:

  • Passkey: Link your device (e.g. your laptop) directly to your account for easier access.
  • Biometrics: For example, your fingerprint or Face ID.
  • Email: Receive an authentication code over email as a third authentication factor.
  • Security key: Authenticate yourself on a separate security device.
  • Push notification: Receive a notification to your device from an app.
  • Corporate SSO: If your organisation uses Single Sign-On (SSO) please contact our team for pricing details.

We ask you to authenticate to confirm several important actions. The additional authentication opens will initially only apply to signing in and then over time we will introduce it for other actions on your account:

  • Adding new payees
  • Adding new users
  • Viewing card details

These changes will roll out over the next couple of months, so keep an eye out for more updates from us.

What do I need to do?

You don't need to change anything. While the URL for the new sign-in page has changed to auth.equalsmoney.com, your bookmarks will redirect to the new link and your sign-in details will remain the same.

Please always ensure that you are accessing the correct sign in page by checking the URL and bookmarking it. Unfortunately fraudsters sometimes attempt to impersonate our sign in page in order to get your account details.

For any emails discussing the security of your account, remember to sign in via our website's sign-in page (https://app.equalsmoney.com/en-GB/login), rather than clicking a link within the email itself. If you have any concerns, talk to our team who can verify if an email was genuinely sent by Equals Money.
