Equals Money builds on the strengths of Equals Spend but brings a host of new features, improved functionality, and a more intuitive interface, tailored to meet the growing demands of modern businesses. Whether it’s enhanced visibility, greater control over company spending, or seamless integration with existing financial systems, Equals Money offers everything you need in one powerful platform.

What is Equals Money?

Equals Money is our new platform, which allows companies to manage their finances more effectively. We’ve used our +18 years of experience and spoken to businesses both large and small, to understand what our customers need. As well as a new platform, there are new Equals Money cards which have a different design and improved functionality.

We’ve made many enhancements in keeping with our mission: to make money movement simple.

Why is the current platform changing?

We want to be able to give you cutting-edge features to help you manage your money as well as to continue to innovate. To do this we needed a new house. The new platform also provides you with more services that are offered by the Equals Group, all with the support of the same dedicated team

New features include:

  • Xero integration (bank feed)
  • Instant GBP and EUR credits to your account*

The upgrade process

When will I be upgraded?

We want to ensure the move is as simple as possible for you and your team. With that in mind, we’ll be gradually inviting people over the course of the year. The exact timing will depend on the size of your company and the features you use, so that we can ensure you have a smooth transition.

Some people will be able to start upgrading their accounts soon, we expect most people currently on Spend to be upgraded by the end of 2024.

How will I know when my company can upgrade?

When you’re ready to upgrade, we’ll email the Company Controllers on your account and you’ll see a banner on your Spend account with an option allowing you to start the upgrade process.

How will the upgrade process work?

1. A Company Controller on your account will need to request the upgrade:

  • Once invited, any Company Controller can click on the upgrade option on your account page, this will appear as a banner.
  • We’ll ask the Company Controller requesting the upgrade fill out some details before confirming, these questions will only take a few minutes.
  • The person making the request will be able to choose a date for any funds on your Equals Spend account to be transferred to your new Equals Money Account Balance. All Equals Spend cards on the account will close on this date.

Requesting an upgrade doesn’t mean an immediate change:

  • You will not need to start using the new (Equals Money) platform straight away. You can choose the date it’s best for your company to do this.
  • None of your Spend cards will be closed until after the date you choose for the upgrade. You Spend platform will still work as normal. You can continue all your day-to-day activities as normal directly after the request.

When requesting an upgrade, we require you to choose a date at least 5 days in the future for your money to be moved across, but you can give yourself more time than this. We would recommend choosing a date that gives you enough time to get acquainted with the new Equals Money account and to set it up.

2. After you’ve requested the upgrade and before the date you’ve selected you’ll have time to set up your next Equals Money account.

  • The Company Controller who requested the upgrade will be able to sign in to the new platform immediately.
  • Once on the account, we recommend that they start by adding more people to the new account.
  • After team members have been added to Equals Money, order them new Equals Money cards. These will take around 5 working days to arrive.
  • Once on the new account, you and your team can get used to the new functions. Our walkthroughs and FAQs have guidance on key features and actions. Feel free to contact our team with any questions.

3. On the date you selected to upgrade your money will move.

  • On the upgrade date, any balance on your Spend account will be moved across to the main balance of the Equals Money account. This will include any Spend card balances - they will all be pooled into the main balance of the Equals Money account.

Is it necessary to upgrade?

Yes, all our customers will need to upgrade. This will ensure you have access to the improved Equals Money platform with new features and updates.

Will the fees or terms and conditions change?

The terms and conditions will remain the same and there will be no change to your fees.

Will our account managers and support team still be the same?

Yes. We’re actually expanding our support team to ensure that we can give you even better service, but our existing experienced team will still be just an email or a phone call away.

Can we upgrade to the new Equals Money platform but keep using our Spend cards?

No. When you upgrade you will need to order new Equals Money cards that will work with the new platform. Your previous Spend cards will eventually be closed after any money on them has been moved to the new platform.

Is there a deadline that we must upgrade by?

We want to get all our customers moved to the new Equals Money platform by the end of 2024. If you have any concerns about this, please talk to our team about it.
