When is the next UK PPI report released?

The publication of the UK Producer Price Index (PPI) has been temporarily paused. The Office for National Statistics plans to resume publication in the summer of 2025 but has not specified an exact date.

Published monthly by the Office for National Statistics (ONS), The UK Producer Price Index (PPI) measures the average change over time in the prices UK manufacturers pay for materials and fuels (input prices) and the prices they receive for their finished goods (output prices).

The PPI is considered an early indicator of inflation and is essential for assessing inflationary pressures within the economy, aiding businesses, policymakers, and economists in understanding price trends and making informed decisions.

However, as of March 2025, the ONS has temporarily suspended the publication of the PPI and Services Producer Price Index (SPPI) due to identified issues with the chain-linking methods used in their calculation. This suspension affects data releases from 2008 onwards, with significant impacts noted in 2022 and 2023.
