Harris Shabbir leads Equals Money's presence across the MENA region. With a career spanning over a decade in financial services, Harris combines deep industry knowledge with a practical, client-focused approach to international payments, global operations, and more.
Graduating from the University of Greenwich in 2011 with a 2:1 degree in Economics and Banking, Harris began his professional journey in investment finance before moving into the foreign exchange space with Hermex, which was later acquired by FairFX—now known as Equals Money.
Since joining Equals over six years ago, he has played a key role in growing the company’s footprint in the Middle East and has served as Head of MENA for the past three years. A native speaker of both English and Urdu, he also has working knowledge of Arabic and Spanish—an asset in his regionally diverse role.
Outside of work, Harris enjoys staying active in the gym, playing padel, and travelling to new destinations.
